Welcome back to the show. Today we're diving into something that's been on everyone's mind lately…
How it works
Choose the simple one-device setup or pair a separate phone remote. No account creation and no app download.
Open the app, then choose to prompt on that device or use it as a separate talent-facing display.
Paste directly in one-device mode. For a separate display, scan the QR code or enter the four-digit code on your controller.
Pick text size, speed, colors and optional mirror mode, then start. Pause or change pace while reading.
Features
Free Teleprompter includes mirror mode, adjustable auto-scroll (1–200 px/s), wireless remote control via WebSocket, 4 color schemes, and font sizes from 24px to 120px. It is built for real shoots and for searchers looking for a free online teleprompter with no watermark or app install.
Mirror mode flips text horizontally so it reads correctly when reflected off beam-splitter teleprompter glass. One tap to toggle. The operator's controller view stays normal — only the talent-facing display is mirrored.
Your phone becomes a real-time wireless remote via WebSocket. Play, pause, change speed, and jump to any part of the script over WiFi or mobile data.
Scroll speed is adjustable from 1 to 200 pixels per second in real time. The average speaking pace is 130–150 words per minute, which corresponds to roughly 35–50 px/s at default font size. Tap buttons for 5 px/s increments or drag to jump.
Four high-contrast color schemes optimized for different lighting conditions: white on black (studio default), green on black (low eye strain), yellow on black (dim environments), and black on white (outdoor/bright venues). Switch in one tap.
Scan the QR code to prefill the controller, or type the four-digit code manually. One controller at a time operates the display; reconnecting requires a private device token.
Compatible with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on any operating system — Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, ChromeOS, and Linux. No app to download, no software to install. Open the page and you're ready to go.

FAQ
Yes. The current core prompting features are free to use with no signup, watermark, or trial. Scripts can contain up to 250,000 characters per active session.
No. Free Teleprompter runs entirely in your web browser. It works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge — on desktop, tablet, and mobile. No download or installation required.
Open the prompter on your main screen (laptop, tablet, monitor). Then open the controller page on your phone. Type in the short code shown on screen — they link up instantly. Now you can play, pause, and change speed from your phone. There's no noticeable delay.
No. The prompting screen stays clean, with no watermark or “upgrade to remove” prompt. Free Teleprompter does not record or export video. See the no-watermark page.
If you use a prompter rig with beam-splitter glass (the kind where you read off the glass in front of the camera lens), mirror mode flips the text so it reads correctly in the reflection. One tap to turn it on. If you don't use a rig, you don't need it. More here: teleprompter mirror mode.
Yes. Put the prompting display behind or beside your camera, or use it with a glass rig. You can prompt on one device or control a separate screen from your phone. Read our YouTube guide.
Yes. Share the code with the operator running the shoot. One paired controller at a time can operate the display from a phone or laptop over an internet connection.
In one-device mode, script text stays in that browser unless you explicitly enable local recovery. In phone-remote mode, script and session state are held temporarily in server memory while the display is active and are not intentionally written to the application database or application logs. Hosting connection data and cookieless analytics are described in the Privacy Policy.
No signup. No download. Open it and start reading your script.
