Storage and Cookie Policy

1. Summary

Free Teleprompter does not currently set HTTP cookies. It uses browser local storage for script recovery only after you enable it, for active-session reconnection and for your analytics opt-out choice. Section 25 TDDDG covers storage on and access to a device even when the technology is not called a cookie.

2. Local Storage We Use

tp-remember-script	Records that you enabled optional on-device script recovery.	Until you turn recovery off, remove the saved copy or clear browser site data.
tp-script	Stores the latest script only while optional recovery is enabled.	Until overwritten, recovery is turned off, the copy is removed or browser site data is cleared.
tp-session	Reconnects the controller to the most recent active display session.	Removed when the app resets the session; otherwise until browser site data is cleared.
tp-control-token	Authenticates secure controller reconnection after the short pairing code has been used.	Removed when the app resets the session; otherwise until browser site data is cleared.
umami.disabled	Remembers an analytics opt-out you explicitly select.	Until you re-enable analytics or clear browser site data.

The optional recovery entries are written only after your affirmative choice and rely on consent under section 25(1) TDDDG. Turning recovery off removes both entries. The pairing entries provide the expressly requested secure-reconnection function and are treated as strictly necessary under section 25(2)(2) TDDDG. The analytics opt-out entry is stored only at your request.

3. Cookieless Analytics

Our self-hosted Umami tracker does not set analytics cookies or use local storage to create an advertising profile. It checks whether the umami.disabled opt-out flag exists and respects Do Not Track. Analytics processing is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Managing Stored Information

Use the “Remember this script on this device” switch in either prompting editor to enable or withdraw optional recovery. Turning it off or selecting “Remove saved copy” deletes the recovery preference and saved script without clearing the text currently open in the editor. You can also inspect or delete all stored information through your browser's privacy or site-data settings. On shared devices, do not enable recovery or remove the saved copy after use.
